1. The agreement
A booking made on this website is a contract between you and Hostel Fjördur, Suðurgata 18, 220 Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. It takes effect when we send your booking confirmation email.
2. Rates and taxes
All rates are quoted in Icelandic króna (ISK) and include VAT at the reduced rate applicable to accommodation. The Icelandic accommodation tax is shown separately in your booking summary. Rates are per room, per night, unless stated otherwise.
3. Payment
Unless you have chosen bank transfer, payment is taken on arrival by card or cash. We may ask for a deposit for group bookings or for stays over peak dates.
4. Cancellation
See our cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Check-in and identification
Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00 using the door code sent to you on the day of arrival. Guests must be 18 or over to book, and we may ask to see photo ID at check-in.
6. Occupancy
Rooms may not be occupied by more people than the stated capacity. Only registered guests may stay overnight.
7. Your conduct
Our house rules form part of these terms. We may end a stay without refund where a guest's behaviour endangers or seriously disturbs other guests or staff.
8. Our liability
We take reasonable care of the property and of your safety while you are here. We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings except where caused by our negligence, and we recommend travel insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Changes on our side
Very occasionally — a burst pipe, a heating failure — we may need to move you to a different room or, if that is not possible, to comparable accommodation nearby. If we do, we will cover the difference in rate and tell you as early as we can.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Icelandic law, and disputes fall to the District Court of Reykjanes.
